With the increasing proportion of plastic parts used in automobiles, people's requirements for the coating quality of plastic parts are also becoming higher and higher. Compared with metal substrates, plastic substrates have lower surface free energy (less than 10-5J/cm2), lower polarity, and residual release agents on the surface, which can easily lead to poor adhesion of plastic coating.


Plasma cleaning can remove hydrocarbon pollutants on the surface of plastic parts, such as grease and auxiliary additives in plastic materials. This process changes the molecular chain structure on the surface of plastic parts, producing free functional groups such as hydroxyl and carboxyl groups that are beneficial for coating adhesion, thereby improving the adhesion of the plastic part surface and ensuring that the structural adhesive can fully wet the substrate surface.

Before coating the car lamp, plasma bombardment of the workpiece can transfer the energy to the lattice atoms of the substrate, causing damage to the lattice structure, increasing the micro roughness of the workpiece surface, completely exposing the surface atoms of the substrate, improving the atomic polarization rate, reducing the distance between the film atoms and the substrate surface atoms, and increasing the contact area between the film and the surface, which is conducive to improving the mechanical locking force and greatly improving the adhesion between the film and the substrate.

The components of car lighting, polycarbonate lenses, and their polypropylene shells must meet extremely strict sealing requirements because even the slightest leakage can cause moisture infiltration, resulting in lens damage and adverse effects on the angle of the light beam, affecting safe driving. The use of plasma cleaning technology to coat the surface of the adhesive layer can effectively improve the adhesive properties of the sealed bond to ensure its functionality.

Sealing strip bonding


In order to ensure good adhesion between the adhesive and the sealing strip surface, appropriate pre-treatment should be carried out on the surface of the sealing strip before applying the adhesive. At present, plasma surface treatment is commonly used for online flocking, which involves bombarding the surface of the sealing strip with a plasma beam of a certain energy to improve its wetting performance and increase surface tension, thereby enhancing the bonding strength between the fluff and the adhesive.
